Fiction 3 (feat. Eleuthera)

from Science_Fiction by Nicolas Bernier & Co.

lyrics

There is mounting evidence that we are not alone in the universe.

Are there somewhere other life forms looking up into their night sky from very different worlds.

Asking the same kind of questions.

The hows, the whys.

A hooded figure emerges from the shadows.

Something in their movements is familiar.

Their worn hands lift to their hidden face.

Time stands still.

Your breath catches in your throat.

Your heartbeat races in your chest.

They pull back their hood to reveal.

(Their eyes, your eyes)

How can this be?

(Their eyes, your eyes)

The wind picks up,

(Their eyes, your eyes)

You stop still in your tracks.

(Their eyes, your eyes)

They approach.

Dark forces align.

This violence, never satisfied.

The dispossessed.

The unreal and the real.

Taking cosmic flight.

Prejudice revealed.

Phallic weapons poised.

Power over cries.

Unarmed masses scattered.

Under thunderous skies.

The left hand of darkness.

Sways the hands of Time.

Counter-clockwise motion.

Reversing words, unrhymed.

Revealing all, unravelled.

Disentangling lives.

A third spent in slumber.

Another third in lies.

The past veiled in myth.

Controlled by gods unseen.

Into unknown futures, foretold, we careen.

Darkness, disproportion.

Grow like winding weeds.

Archaeology reveals, the glitter of a seed.

They fight and feed on fear, hate, rivalry, aggression.

Interplanetary game, labyrinthian oppression.

Mythology feeds memory beyond what words can say.

Instruments of power, that put us in our place.

A vaste ornate procession gold spheres.

The chaos of the cosmos.

Thunderous, discordant, their sounding is a storm.

Towers watching over, they never march in form.

Death walks behind the king.

The Mover of great events.

Human bones, human blood in the mortar.

The building of our great cities.

More and more I long for saneness, for anonymity.
